German Parliament Approved Payment Card for Refugees

The German parliament approved a payment card for refugees

The law for the new payment card system for refugees in Germany, after months of discussion and approval in the country’s federal parliament, the Bundestag, has now also been endorsed by the German Federal Council, the Bundesrat.

The German Federal Council consists of 69 members from the representatives of the governments of Germany’s 16 states and is considered part of the legislative body in this country.

According to the new law, refugees are supposed to receive part of the benefits allocated to them in the form of credit card payments, without using cash.
