Germany’s readiness to evacuate embassy staff families from the region
Germany is evacuating the families of embassy staff and non-essential personnel from the region
The German Foreign Ministry announced today in a statement that the country has begun airlifting non-essential personnel and the families of its embassy staff from Israel, Lebanon, and the West Bank.
The statement mentioned that the Foreign Ministry, considering the current situation, has raised the crisis level for its foreign missions in Beirut, Ramallah, and Tel Aviv over the past two days and is gathering staff, their families, and non-essential personnel.
The German Foreign Ministry adds in this statement that this means the embassies remain operational, but the families of dispatched staff and related German organizations, as well as non-essential personnel, are being airlifted from the region.
The German Foreign Ministry also emphasized that they are pursuing the evacuation of remaining German citizens in Lebanon to facilitate their return through commercial flights and other means.
