Germany’s Opposition to Key Points of Zelensky’s Victory Plan
The German Chancellor on Friday, October 18th (27th of Mehr), after the European Union meeting in Brussels, expressed his opposition to the victory plan of Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine. Olaf Scholz, explaining the reason for his opposition to the main parts of this plan, including the issue of delivering Taurus missiles to Ukraine, stated that caution must be taken to prevent the war between Russia and Ukraine from turning into a war between Russia and NATO, noting that this plan would further escalate the situation.
Zelensky had previously introduced the so-called victory plan to Ukrainian representatives and military leaders, stating that after the end of Russia’s aggressive war, Ukraine will contribute to the security of Europe and NATO with its military experience, and that Ukrainian soldiers could even replace American forces in Europe.
