Gharibabadi said the talks of the Iranian delegation in Doha have ended, and no meeting was held with the American delegation.
Kazem Gharibabadi, the Deputy for Legal and International Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced the conclusion of the Iranian delegation’s talks in Doha and stated that no meeting between the Iranian and American delegations took place.
According to him, the talks began with a meeting with the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, and then the Iranian, Qatari, and Pakistani delegations held two meetings. Additionally, the first meeting of the oversight group for the implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding was held with the presence of senior negotiators from the three countries.
Gharibabadi said the Iranian delegation raised the issue of the U.S. violating its commitments under the first clause of the Memorandum of Understanding regarding the end of the war in Lebanon, reports on the strengthening of U.S. forces and equipment in the region, and the threatening statements of American officials. He emphasized that the provisions of the memorandum should be implemented as an integrated whole.
He added that it has been decided to establish an immediate communication channel for the oversight group by tomorrow, so that violations of the memorandum can be officially recorded, reviewed, and decisions made about them.
The Deputy Foreign Minister also reported on the examination of how part of the six billion dollars of Iran’s blocked assets will be spent in a meeting with Qatari officials, including the country’s central bank, and said that based on Iran’s declared needs, the necessary goods will be purchased and provided to the country.
