Gold medal behind the university classroom desk
The large organization of American collegiate champions, abbreviated as NCAA, single-handedly conquered the Paris Olympics. Many American athletes in these games reached their national team and Olympic medals through the competitions and support of this organization.
Sha’Carri Richardson, the golden runner and American star, is one of dozens of examples. Katie Ledecky, the young American swimmer who became a legend in the history of American Olympic competitions by winning consecutive medals, reached the world of championship through this path, just like her famous brother.
Collegiate sports and championship competitions and cups are not only important in the context of domestic league competitions in the three main American team sports, namely American football, basketball, and baseball, but they have also elevated individual and team sports in America to the pinnacle on a global level. The country’s volleyball team is another example.

But the story doesn’t end there. American collegiate sports were present at the Paris Olympics not only with the American team but also with 125 countries. This organization also has some activities in Canada, and yet stars from various countries have reached the championship level in American universities. Perhaps one of the most important examples that should be recorded forever in history is Léon Marchand, the French swimming champion whose magical medals overshadowed the memory of Michael Phelps. He advanced himself at Arizona State University and reached the championship level. American collegiate sports won the Paris Olympics.
