Google’s logo changed for Nowruz 1404

Continuing its annual tradition, Google changed its homepage logo to honor the ancient celebration of Nowruz, a festival celebrated by millions worldwide.

The special Google Doodle, displayed on the search engine’s homepage on Thursday, March 20, 2025, celebrated the beginning of spring and the new solar year with its colorful and symbolic design, conveying messages of hope, joy, and renewal to over 300 million Nowruz celebrants around the world.

The special Nowruz 1404 design was created by Pandar Yousefi, an Iranian-American artist and the lead UX designer at Google Translate.

In this logo, the name Google is adorned with colorful spring flowers, fresh buds, and flying birds.

At the center of the design, the Haft-Seen table, one of the most important symbols of Nowruz, is prominently featured.

Pandar Yousefi mentioned that the inspiration for this work came from his fond childhood memories of Nowruz.

He has tried to depict the joy, unity, and hope that Nowruz brings, even during difficult times.

Through extensive research on Nowruz traditions across various cultures from the Middle East to Central Asia, he created a design that appeals not only to Persian speakers but to all Nowruz celebrants.

Google Doodles typically do not appear for Iranian users who do not use VPN tools.

Unfortunately, this is also the case for the Nowruz Doodle.
