Governor of Hamedan: Banks Should Not Provide Services to Unveiled Women

The governor of Hamadan instructed banks not to provide services to unveiled women.

The governor of Hamadan emphasized not providing banking services to women and girls who refuse to comply with mandatory hijab.

On Friday, Fars News Agency quoted Alireza Ghasemi Farzad, stating that the public atmosphere should be such that not observing hijab and modesty is considered disgraceful.

He specifically addressed bank officials in Hamadan, asking them to refrain from providing services to those who do not adhere to the mandatory hijab.

Amid increased threats and stricter actions by supporters of mandatory hijab in the government, several Iranian lawyers and legal experts have responded to official statements from some ministries and institutions of the Islamic Republic, declaring the refusal of services to women and girls who do not comply with mandatory hijab as illegal.
