Grenade Wound on the Ganjnameh Inscriptions of Hamedan

This morning, an image circulated on social media indicating that a hand grenade had hit the Ganjnameh inscriptions of Hamedan, leaving a black soot stain on one of these inscriptions.

However, the Director General of Cultural Heritage of Hamedan Province says the effects of the grenade are being cleaned up, and there is no cause for concern. The restoration team is working to remove the remnants of the hand grenade, which is nothing but black soot.
