Greta Thunberg, Environmental Activist, to be Tried

Judicial authorities in Sweden announced that Greta Thunberg, the environmental activist, will soon appear in court on charges of disobeying the police during protests.

The 20-year-old Ms. Thunberg joined a protest last month that blocked oil tankers in the city of Malmö.

The police stated that when asked to clear the way, she refused.

This environmental activist may face up to six months in prison or a fine.

This protest group blocked Malmö harbor for six days last month, preventing oil tankers from passing.

In June, while joining this group, Greta Thunberg wrote on her Instagram that the climate crisis is currently a matter of life and death for countless people. We choose not to be spectators and instead stop fossil fuel infrastructure.
