Grossi: Iran has the capacity to increase enrichment but currently has no intention to do so
The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency said on Friday that the agency has found no direct indication of Iran increasing its uranium enrichment level, though the country has the capacity to do so.
Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, in an interview with the Russia 24 TV channel on Friday night, mentioned the attacks on the nuclear facilities of the Islamic Republic, stating that they see no signs of Iran increasing its uranium enrichment level.
Grossi emphasized that while some centrifuges have been destroyed, others remain intact at different facilities, and given the current international tensions, it is unlikely that Iranian authorities intend to increase uranium enrichment levels now.
Rafael Grossi, stressing that efforts are being made to restore relations with Iran, added that even after the attacks on the Islamic Republic’s nuclear facilities, it is very important for Iran to continue cooperating with us.
The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, referring to the resumption of the agency’s inspections in Iran, said that Iran remains an important partner for the International Atomic Energy Agency and the agency must conduct inspections there.
