Grossi Requested Immediate Meeting with Araqchi

Grossi asked Araqchi for an immediate meeting

Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, has suggested in a letter to Abbas Araqchi to have an urgent meeting with him.

In this statement, he said that resuming cooperation with Iran is key to reaching a successful agreement, and a meeting with the Iranian Foreign Minister could lead to a diplomatic solution to the longstanding dispute over the nuclear program.

Mr. Grossi said in this statement that, as I have repeatedly emphasized before the start and during the conflict, nuclear facilities should not be attacked because this poses a real risk of a serious radiological incident.

The Director General of the Agency stated that the inspectors of this body remained in Iran throughout the conflicts and are ready to resume their work as soon as possible, including returning to nuclear sites and verifying the inventory of nuclear materials such as more than 400 kilograms of enriched uranium up to 60 percent.

The statement says that the enriched uranium stockpile was last inspected a few days before the start of Israeli airstrikes.
