Grounding of Iran’s ATR Planes

More than 80% of the ATR aircraft fleet in Iran, which were purchased after the JCPOA, have been grounded due to a lack of parts.

Iran’s Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development, referring to the impact of sanctions on Iran’s aviation industry, said they sold us JCPOA planes but did not provide the parts. Under these conditions, we must maintain safety, keep the industry running, and serve the people.

Mohammad Mohammadi Bakhsh, the Deputy Minister, told ISNA News Agency on Wednesday, February 8th, that while ICAO states that aviation knowledge should be expanded without discrimination, the U.S. even refrains from sending aviation publications to Iran. They sold us JCPOA planes but did not provide the parts. Under these conditions, we must maintain safety, keep the industry running, and serve the people.
