Guardian Council Spokesperson: No Possibility to Appeal Disqualifications in Presidential Elections

The spokesperson for the Guardian Council stated that there is no possibility to appeal disqualifications in the presidential elections.

Hadi Tahan Nazif, the spokesperson for the Guardian Council, explained the twelve conditions for presidential election candidacy based on the Guardian Council’s resolution. He stated that out of these 12 conditions, 4 require supporting documents, and those who come to register must provide the relevant documents. If they do not provide them, they will not be registered at all. One of these conditions is age, which must be at least 40 years and at most 75 years old according to the solar calendar. The next condition is educational qualifications, which must be at least a master’s degree or its equivalent.

He continued by saying that there is no possibility to appeal disqualifications in the presidential elections.
