Guardian: Plan to Reopen the Strait of Hormuz Mostly Proceeds Based on Iran's Proposal

The Guardian reports that the plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz is largely proceeding based on Iran’s proposal.

Patrick Wintour, The Guardian’s diplomatic editor, wrote that Oman, under pressure from the US, Europe, and Saudi Arabia, is accepting a path for reopening the Strait of Hormuz that is largely designed based on Iran’s initiative.

According to Wintour, under this proposal, the shipping route will be arranged in such a way that Iran will maintain predominant control over it, and vessels will pass through waters under Iranian control when entering the strait.
