Haddadi, the president of the Athletics Federation, reacts to the sexual accusations against athletes in Korea by saying we will handle it in the best way possible.
Ehsan Haddadi, the president of the Athletics Federation, after two months of silence regarding the arrest of four national team members on charges of rape in South Korea, said on the sidelines of the national youth athletics championship in Mashhad that the Ministry of Sports, the federation, and the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in South Korea are following up on the matter so that this unfortunate incident for the country’s sports is resolved in the best way.
Certainly, our athletes will return to the country.
Regarding his two-month silence, he said any comment about the incident that occurred at the Asian Games for the country’s sports might affect the judgment and the case’s proceedings.
Ahmad Donyamali, the Minister of Sports and Youth, previously stated that efforts to bring the four athletes back to Iran are ongoing and raised the possibility of an information trap against these individuals, saying he could neither fully confirm nor deny the information trap created for our country’s athletes.
Hossein Rasouli, a discus thrower, Masoud Kamran, a runner, Amir Zamanpour, a runner, and Amir Moradi, one of the athletics team coaches, were arrested in June on the sidelines of the Asian competitions on charges of group assault on a South Korean woman.
