Hadi Kasaizadeh, Journalist, Arrested

Hadi Kasayizadeh, the journalist, has been arrested

According to reports, Hadi Kasayizadeh, a journalist and the editor-in-chief of the monthly magazine Meydan Azadi in Iran, has been arrested.

Based on a post published on this journalist’s page on the social network X (formerly Twitter), he was arrested on Tuesday, December 19, after visiting a judicial complex in Tehran.

Mr. Kasayizadeh had previously announced at the beginning of this month that the prosecutor and Tehran municipality had filed a complaint and charges against him.

He had also published a post a few days ago regarding the wages of eulogists, which has now been removed from his page.

He had written, by sharing an image of an official letter, that the tariff for eulogizing about martyrs starts from 60 million in the provinces.

Despite this, official sources, his lawyer, or Mr. Kasayizadeh’s family have not yet released any information about the charges or the reason for his arrest.
