Hamshahri Newspaper: Since the Start of the Twelve-Day War, 53 Christian Citizens Arrested in Iran

The Hamshahri newspaper reported that since the start of the twelve-day war, 53 Christian citizens have been arrested in Iran.

The Hamshahri newspaper in Tehran reported that since the start of the 12-day war between Israel and the Islamic Republic, 53 Christian citizens have been arrested in Iran.

This newspaper has linked the arrests to the recent war and claimed that some Evangelical Christians intended to carry out ground operations in Tehran simultaneously with Israel’s attack.

However, Hamshahri has not provided any evidence for this serious accusation, which could lead to severe punishments.

According to data from HRANA, the news agency of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, Christians, especially converts, have constituted about 11% of all victims of religious minority rights violations in Iran over the past decade.

During the Israeli attacks on Iran, some Christians were also harmed, and domestic media reported the destruction of a Christian family’s home in the bombings.
