Mohsen Hashemi’s harsh criticism of Zakani’s solutions for Tehran
Mohsen Hashemi wrote in the Etemad newspaper that every week, supposedly joyful news is presented in the Hamshahri newspaper, on state TV, in the press, and on websites, of course without sufficient and accurate explanations, about Zakani’s ‘Saturdays of Pride’.
What is more important and what we need to know is that by superficially addressing public transportation in Tehran with such acts of appearing active or appearing progressive, neither the air pollution problem nor traffic will be solved without having an effective alternative for the people. If there is a claim of offering a solution, a more effective move is needed in approving the budget and long-term credit for completing the metro.
With these kinds of ‘Saturdays’, it might take 100 years to solve the air pollution and traffic issues, and by then, perhaps a new technology for transporting people will have been invented, rendering the metro obsolete. It would be good to refer to Saadi’s Gulistan and pay attention to the story about the incompetence of rulers.
In line with this subject, a report and analysis titled ‘Corruption Continues in Tehran Municipality’ has been exclusively published on Iran Gate.
