Hassan Rouhani on Elections: Even Approving 110,000 Candidates Won't Increase Participation

Hassan Rouhani says that even approving the eligibility of 110,000 people won’t increase participation in the elections.

Hassan Rouhani, the former president of Iran, addressed the topic of elections during a meeting with a group of former education chiefs that was held yesterday.

He stated that even if instead of 11,000 people, 110,000 people from one faction are approved, the same number of people who were supposed to participate in the elections will come to the polls, and it won’t increase participation.

He said that low participation in the elections leaves an adverse impact on the country and the system.
