Have tens of thousands of people been arrested?

But tens of thousands of people have been arrested

The spokesperson for the judiciary announced that the pardon of prisoners includes several thousand protesters who were arrested during the nationwide protests. Many users on social media have raised the question of how tens of thousands of people have been arrested that now thousands of them are being released.

Abbas Abdi, a reformist political analyst, referred to this move as a major pardon in a note and wrote in the Etemad newspaper that when we read the exceptions to the pardon, this question arises for us: then who are the thousands of prisoners who have not committed any of the aforementioned acts and are to be pardoned?

He referred to the 1979 revolution and asked whether, 44 years after a revolution that was for freedom, these actions should be condemned and their pardon considered a favor.

He wrote that there is no doubt that with these policies, a large portion of those pardoned or similar individuals will be sent back to prison. Why? Because they did not enter this field as a pastime to abandon it.
