Head of the Asadabad Natural Resources Department: 100 hectares of the province’s pastures were destroyed in a fire
Behzad Shahmoradi, head of the Asadabad Natural Resources Department in Hamadan province, has stated that a fire in Hosseinabad of this county has resulted in 100 hectares of pastures, agricultural lands, and orchards in the area being reduced to ashes.
Mr. Shahmoradi told the state news agency IRNA that this fire was contained after five hours of effort with the help of teams from the Natural Resources, the Red Crescent, farmers, local communities, and the use of fire beaters, blowers, and other equipment.
According to him, this year, nine fires have occurred in this county, covering an area of 200 hectares.
This government official explained the cause of these fires as follows: the rainfall has increased the vegetation in the county’s pastures, and on the other hand, the shortage of livestock has led to many of these pastures and fodder remaining untouched, making them vulnerable to fires.
