Mohammad Hadi Mofatteh, the head of the Islamic Center of Hamburg, has filed a lawsuit against his deportation order in the Hamburg administrative court.
According to a spokesperson for the Hamburg administrative court, Mofatteh’s lawsuit was submitted to the court as an urgent request on the evening of Tuesday, September 10th, which corresponds to the 20th of Shahrivar. Meanwhile, he has until midnight on Wednesday, September 11th, to leave Germany. The court spokesperson stated that this request does not affect his deadline to leave Germany.
According to the court spokesperson, the timing of the decision regarding this lawsuit depends on whether the internal authorities of the state of Hamburg intend to pursue Mofatteh’s deportation if necessary. The Hamburg Ministry of the Interior is expected to issue a statement about this matter later this afternoon.
