Head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization: 130 Agency Inspectors Permitted to Be in Iran

The head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization stated that 130 IAEA inspectors are authorized to be present in Iran.

Eslami noted that we have not banned any IAEA inspectors from entering Iran, and currently, more than 130 inspectors from the agency are authorized to be present in Iran for inspections. Accordingly, the agency’s inspections within the framework of safeguards at Iran’s sites are ongoing.

He continued, expressing hope that since, from the perspective of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the statement from March 2023 is still valid and we are engaging within the framework of that statement, our interaction with the agency will continue.

He added that, of course, there have been obstructions by a destructive current working against Iran’s nuclear program, which have affected this statement and cast doubt on its stability. However, we will have negotiations with Mr. Grossi and are confident that these exchanges and discussions will help resolve these ambiguities and strengthen Iran’s relations with the agency within the framework of safeguards.
