The head of the government’s information council said these claims that the flood-affected people have been abandoned do not stick to the government.
While multiple reports indicate that aid has not reached a large number of flood-affected villages in Sistan and Baluchestan, the head of the government’s information council stated that aid is ongoing and added that these claims that the flood-affected people have been abandoned do not stick to the people’s government.
According to Mehr News Agency, on Wednesday, March 16, Sepehr Khalaji, the head of the government’s information council, added on the sidelines of the cabinet meeting that despite the Ministry of Interior being engaged with election issues, the work continues with the mobilization of all agencies, including the Ministry of Roads and Energy.
His statements come as more than eight days have passed since the major flood in southern Sistan and Baluchestan, with domestic media considering the aid to these areas insufficient. For instance, the Iranian Labor News Agency (ILNA) reported in a field report on Wednesday that aid to the flood-affected areas is being delivered in a piecemeal and uncoordinated manner.
