Head of the Health Committee of Tehran City Council: Health per capita in Tehran does not match its population

The head of the Health Committee of Tehran City Council says the health infrastructure in Tehran does not match its population.

A member of the Tehran City Islamic Council’s presidium has pointed out that there is no hospital in district 19 of Tehran, stating that they claim building a hospital in certain areas is not economically viable for them.

Soudabeh Najafi, a member of the presidium of the Tehran City Islamic Council, also mentioned that the health infrastructure in Tehran does not align with its population size.

According to her, contrary to what is assumed, many healthcare indicators in the capital are worse compared to other cities and metropolises in the country.

Najafi added that many public and private hospitals are concentrated in certain areas of Tehran, and we observe fewer healthcare facilities in the south of Tehran.
