The head of the Parliament’s Judicial Committee stated that business owners should adhere to the hijab law to avoid punishment.
Mousa Ghazanfarabadi, the head of the Legal and Judicial Committee of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, said that business owners must respect the boundaries set by the law to avoid being punished.
Regarding the sealing of businesses related to the hijab issue and whether property owners should be accountable for their customers’ behavior, and what the law states in this regard, he said that the property is private, and the business owner has the authority to sell to whomever they wish and refuse service to whomever they wish. When the law sets boundaries for them, they must comply with the law to avoid legal punishment.
The head of the Legal and Judicial Committee of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, when asked whether there is a plan under review in the committee concerning the hijab issue, stated that there is no such plan in the Judicial Committee, but he believes the Cultural Committee is examining some matters.
