Health Commission Spokesperson: Some Herbal Shops in Iran Have Turned into Drug Trafficking Arms

The spokesperson for the Health Committee stated that some herbal shops in Iran have turned into arms of drug trafficking.

The spokesperson for the Parliament’s Health and Treatment Committee criticized that some herbal shops have turned into arms of drug trafficking, saying that herbal shops do not have the right to enter the realm of treatment, prescription, advertising, and selling drugs.

Salman Es’haghi further stated that there was also criticism that some herbal shops offer narcotic herbal medicines and abortion drugs, while they do not have the right to enter the realm of treatment, prescription, advertising, and selling drugs, and that deterrent punishments and necessary actions should be taken.

He continued by saying that the committee members emphasized that supervision over the activities of herbal shops should be intensified and that the Ministry of Health should play a role in granting licenses to herbal shops.
