Hezbollah handed over a suspect in the killing of an Irish peacekeeper
Hezbollah in Lebanon has handed over a suspect in the shooting at a United Nations peacekeepers’ vehicle to security forces.
This individual is accused of killing an Irish UN peacekeeping soldier in Lebanon, named Sean Rooney, in a village near Beirut on December 14th.
According to the Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper, several others have also been arrested in connection with this case. Hezbollah has denied involvement in the shooting at the peacekeepers’ vehicle. The village where Sean Rooney was killed is considered one of Hezbollah’s strongholds.
