Hezbollah handed over a suspect in the killing of an Irish peacekeeper

Hezbollah in Lebanon has handed over a suspect in the shooting of a United Nations peacekeepers’ vehicle to the security forces.

This individual is accused of killing an Irish UN peacekeeper named Sean Rooney in Lebanon’s UNIFIL in a village near Beirut on December 14th.

According to the Al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper, several other people have been arrested in connection with this case. Hezbollah has denied involvement in the shooting of the peacekeepers’ vehicle. The village where Sean Rooney was killed is considered one of Hezbollah’s strongholds.
