Hossein Shariatmadari: Pezeshkian should not use those who initiated the 2009 sedition

Hossein Shariatmadari wrote in an article in Kayhan that the expectation from Mr. Pezeshkian, as the people’s choice for the presidency of our country, is logical and aligns with the wish for his success. It is expected that in selecting members of his government and his associates and colleagues, he should not use those who have diverged from the revolution and the system that emerged from it. Today’s headline report in Kayhan is about this issue, and in the short note ahead, we only address one example of such cases. If some of the notorious dissenters had not encamped around him, writing this note would not have been necessary. Now, just as an example, read this.

Mr. Pezeshkian, this group is the same that, with the formula dictated by George Soros and after successive meetings with agents of the well-known intelligence services of the enemies of the revolution, who were sent to Iran under academic covers, initiated the American-Israeli sedition of 2009. The slogan ‘Neither Gaza nor Lebanon’ during the 2009 sedition was the chant of this very group, a slogan that was proposed to the leaders and companions of the sedition by the Persian-language website of the Israeli Foreign Ministry at that time.

Mr. Pezeshkian, you should not expect from this group with such a background that they will not censor your revolutionary, Islamic, and anti-oppression message or that they will not be angry about its delivery.

Supporters of the Islamic Republic refer to the people’s protests in 2009 as ‘sedition’.
