A proposal has been presented in the parliament that not only targets women and opponents of mandatory hijab but also encompasses a wide range of business owners, sellers, and business people for punishment.

It has been claimed that the proposal does not criminalize individuals and has complete approval from the heads of the three branches of government.

On Tuesday, March 14, the Cultural Commission of the Parliament unveiled a new proposal in a public session, according to which city cameras will be used to identify citizens without hijab, and monitoring people on social networks will be the responsibility of the police.

This proposal, which includes a schedule for how to punish violators, has been described as intelligent by its innovators and drafters.

According to the new proposal and law, hijab warnings are to be given in a non-confrontational manner, ensuring the individual’s dignity is preserved, and will be repeated multiple times.
