Iman Shamsaei’s Reaction to the Dismissal of a Journalist by the Secretary
The Director General of Domestic Press at the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance reacted to a video showing Alireza Dabir’s behavior towards a journalist. He stated that the slap from a city council member and the president of the federation’s gesture to dismiss the journalist, although a mistake and indicative of the arrogance present in some management circles, primarily highlights the weakness of the media’s professional system. The ease with which public relations departments issue statements claiming that a person is not a journalist or not a specialized journalist, or that a certain related or unrelated comment was made, is an assertion for which there is no legal mechanism to refute or prove.
In a short video shared by Iranian media, Alireza Dabir, during a meeting of the Mazandaran Province Wrestling Board, mentioned various cities in Mazandaran to emphasize his familiarity with wrestling in the region. He stated that he knows the Mazandaran accent and even the disputes among the people of these cities. In response to these remarks, a journalist accused Dabir of mocking the people of Mazandaran.
In response, Alireza Dabir denied the accusation, saying, ‘What mockery? Am I joking with you?’
