Increase in the Dollar Rate in Iran’s Free Market

While the official exchange rate declared by the National Exchange on Wednesday, March 8, was 46,629 tomans, according to unofficial websites, the free market dollar price has once again reached the 51,000 toman range.

On Wednesday, the Tasnim News Agency reported the dollar price in the free market as 49,135 tomans and the pound price as 59,723 tomans. However, according to unofficial websites that track foreign currency rates in Iran, the exchange rate for the British pound on Wednesday was announced as 60,550 tomans, and each euro was traded at 53,900 tomans.

Each US dollar in Iran’s free and unofficial market was recorded at 51,200 tomans. The dollar price had dropped to around 49,000 tomans on Tuesday.
