The rise in power of factions supporting nuclear weapons in Iran worries Western diplomats.
The British publication The Guardian writes in an analysis that there are growing concerns among European and American diplomats that the lack of full oversight over Iran’s nuclear program, along with the instability caused by the Gaza war, might strengthen the position of those Iranian hardliners who support the development of nuclear weapons.
In addition to these issues, Ebrahim Raisi recently reiterated that his country continues to pursue civilian nuclear programs.
For this reason, at last week’s meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency, the United States and its European partners issued strong warnings about the threats arising from Iran’s lack of cooperation on nuclear issues.
