Increased Pressure on Students to Enforce Mandatory Hijab

Simultaneously with the intensified crackdown on students in various universities aimed at enforcing mandatory hijab, including at Isfahan University of Art and the mass expulsion of protesting students from the dormitory of the Faculty of Social Sciences, student organizations reported that a female student from Yazd University was transferred to the hospital following psychological pressure exerted during a disciplinary committee meeting, threats from the university president, and a two-semester suspension from studies.

The National Student Councils confirmed the transfer of Zahra Rahimi, a chemistry student at Yazd University, to the hospital and reported that her condition worsened during the April 15th disciplinary committee meeting after verbal abuse and insults from Abbas Kalantari, the president of Yazd University, which subsequently required immediate medical treatment.
