India is adopting new political strategies to reduce the impact of Israel-Iran tensions on its trade.

Sunil Barthwal, India’s Deputy Minister of Commerce, announced on Monday, April 15, that the Indian government plans to adopt a new policy aimed at reducing the potential impact of the Iran-Israel conflict on the country’s trade after a thorough review.

Mr. Barthwal stated that political interventions will only be made after identifying the risks faced by traders, and the government will certainly address whatever is necessary.

As the third-largest importer and consumer of oil in the world, India imports a significant portion of its oil from the Middle East.
