Inspection Organization Calls for Risk Mitigation in Tehran's Grand Bazaar

The Inspection Organization called for the removal of hazards from Tehran’s Grand Bazaar

The Deputy Supervisor at the General Inspection Organization, in an official letter to several responsible bodies including the Presidency of Iran, requested an acceleration in making Tehran’s Grand Bazaar safe and removing hazards.

On Tuesday, June 6, ILNA News Agency, quoting Mohammad Mehdi Bolandian, Deputy Supervisor of Political and Judicial Affairs at the General Inspection Organization, highlighted numerous issues of the capital’s Grand Bazaar, including narrow passages and walkways, the presence of abandoned and dilapidated properties, and the lack of access for firefighting operational forces in case of a fire.

The non-standard infrastructure of Tehran’s bazaar, such as sewage and surface water collection networks, electricity distribution, gas supply, and the area’s traffic congestion issues, are other problems that underscore the importance of expediting the safety measures for this market.
