Inspection teams to enforce mandatory hijab in Mazandaran

A security official from Mazandaran province announced the formation of inspection teams to enforce mandatory hijab or what he referred to as combating improper veiling in recreational areas and accommodation centers in Mazandaran during the Nowruz holidays.

Ruhollah Solgi, the political and security deputy of Mazandaran’s governor, said on Thursday during the chastity and hijab working group meeting with the presence of the province’s governors, that addressing improper veiling and combating the manifestations of decadent Western culture is a fundamental approach in the country.

Officials of the Islamic Republic refer to girls or women who do not comply with the government’s mandatory hijab as improperly veiled or unveiled.
