The Intelligence Organization of Isfahan Police Command arrested those involved in the beating of a person promoting virtue.
Following the release of a video showing a confrontation between several individuals and a person promoting virtue in Naqsh-e Jahan Square, Isfahan, the Intelligence Organization of the provincial police command announced the arrest of all those involved in the incident.
According to the announcement by the Isfahan Police Intelligence Organization, published in Iranian media on Sunday, April 1st, the individuals were arrested in less than 36 hours. Additionally, due to the involvement of some business owners in the beating, they were also arrested, and the related businesses were sealed.
Previously, the Chief Justice of Isfahan had reported the involvement of four people in the beating of a person promoting virtue and stated that a legal case had been filed regarding this matter.
These individuals were arrested and pursued after a video was circulated on social networks in recent days, showing a scuffle with a person prohibiting vice in Naqsh-e Jahan Square, Isfahan.
Detailed information about the cause of this confrontation has not yet been released, but in the published video, the individuals present object to the filming by the person introduced as promoting virtue.
Government officials and media in Iran refer to people who advise women in public places to observe hijab or film them as promoters of virtue and prohibitors of vice.
