Interior Ministers of Iran and Pakistan Met Twice in 24 Hours

The interior ministers of Iran and Pakistan met twice within 24 hours.

Iranian media reported that Iskandar Momeni, Iran’s interior minister, and Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan’s interior minister, held two separate meetings over the past day on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s interior ministers’ meeting in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

According to these reports, the two sides discussed bilateral relations, the security of shared borders, and regional developments.

These meetings took place under circumstances where Pakistan is acting as a mediator between Tehran and Washington, trying to facilitate an agreement between the two sides to end tensions and stabilize a ceasefire.

Despite the ongoing exchange of messages and draft agreements between Iran and the United States, officials from both countries have announced that a final agreement has not yet been reached.
