Internet in Iran Faces Severe Disruptions and Slowdown

The internet in Iran has experienced severe disruption and a drop in speed.

According to reports from users on social media, this morning, Monday, April 9th, the internet in Iran has experienced severe disruption and a drop in speed.

The ISNA news agency has also confirmed the disruption and drop in internet speed from around 10 AM on Monday. ArvanCloud and Shatel have also confirmed these disruptions and speed drops. Meanwhile, the data centers of Afranet, Pars Online, and Mobinnet companies have also reported a severe drop in internet speed.

According to Mehr News Agency, the Telecommunication Infrastructure Company has stated in response to these disruptions that since the performance of the infrastructure communication network is monitored online, there is no disruption in the country’s infrastructure network, and it is likely that the problem originates from one of the telecommunications operators, which is being investigated by the relevant authorities.

The disruption in the country’s internet network occurs while on Saturday, April 7th, Isa Zarepour, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, announced that by June this year, internet speed in Iran will increase by 30% and by the end of 2024, it will increase by at least 50%.
