Investigation into the Cause of Fire at Controversial American Judge's House Continues

Investigation into the cause of the fire at the controversial American judge’s home continues

The home of Judge Diana Goodstein, a South Carolina state court judge, caught fire on Saturday, October 3rd, in the Edisto area, an incident that occurred after receiving death threats, according to local media cited by Time magazine.

The fire started around 11:30 AM, and Judge Goodstein was not at home at the time, but her husband, Arnold Goodstein, a former Democratic Party senator, and two other family members were taken to the hospital with severe injuries.

According to the St. Paul Fire Department, the house residents were rescued using a boat.

State officials have said it is still unclear whether the fire was intentional or accidental, but the possibility of an explosion as the cause of the incident is being considered.

The 69-year-old judge had been receiving death threats in recent weeks following her controversial decision to prevent the release of the voter list to the U.S. Department of Justice.
