iPhone Import Tariff Set at 96% if Ban is Lifted

The import tariff for iPhones has been set at 96% if the ban is lifted.

According to the decree of the Council of Ministers, given the ban on the import of smartphones with the Apple brand, if this ban is lifted in the future by the competent authorities, the commercial profit for it will be anticipated to be 96%.

It is worth mentioning that since the beginning of autumn 2022, the import of iPhone 14 and above, both commercially and by travelers, has been banned in the country. This decision has led to the price of the iPhone 13, due to having registration and warranty, being more expensive than the smuggled iPhone 14 and 15. Currently, some people prefer to use the latest available technology for less money and, alongside this, use a cheap mobile phone to activate their SIM card and connect to the internet with the latest iPhone model, advancing their work.

Currently, most iPhones before model 14 are refurbished or repackaged. When an iPhone breaks, Apple stores around the world take the phone from the customer and provide them with a new product. After some time, when the distribution period of older models ends, the broken phones are refurbished and offered with an RF label, meaning refurbished.
