Iran advanced to the top of the group with a victory against the UAE

In the final group stage match of the Asian Cup, Iran’s national football team faced the UAE and defeated them 2-1 in a game where the referee disallowed three of Iran’s goals. Mehdi Taremi scored both goals with assists from Sardar Azmoun.

Iran’s head coach Amir Ghalenoei started the match with a lineup of Alireza Beiranvand, Ehsan Hajsafi, Shoja Khalilzadeh, Mohammad Hossein Kanaanizadegan, Sadegh Moharrami, Saman Ghoddos, Saeid Ezatolahi, Mehdi Ghayedi, Mehdi Taremi, Ali Gholizadeh, and Sardar Azmoun.
