The defense ministers of Iran and Bolivia signed a cooperation agreement.
Iran announced the signing of a cooperation agreement between the defense ministries of Iran and Bolivia.
According to Iranian media, this agreement was signed during the recent visit of the Bolivian defense minister to Tehran.
The Tasnim news agency reports that Mohammad Reza Ashtiani, the Iranian defense minister, and his Bolivian counterpart Edmundo Novillo signed the agreement after discussions on defense and equipment cooperation.
Mr. Ashtiani, the Iranian defense minister, stated at the signing ceremony that Latin American countries, given the sensitive region of South America, hold special importance in Iran’s foreign and defense policy.
He said that during the recent visit of the Bolivian defense minister, they familiarized him with the achievements of the defense ministry and added that Bolivia has needs concerning border defense and combating drug trafficking, which they tried to address through equipment interactions with this country.
The Iranian defense minister said that this cooperation could serve as a model for our other friends in South America.
Tasnim reports that the Bolivian defense minister evaluated his visit to Tehran positively.
