Iran and Iraq emphasized speeding up the implementation of joint projects.
Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, met with Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi, the Prime Minister of Iraq, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
The two parties discussed bilateral relations and the progress of implementing agreements, calling for the removal of obstacles to joint projects in the fields of economy, trade, energy, transportation, and infrastructure.
Pezeshkian and Al-Zaidi also reviewed the consequences of recent U.S. and Israeli attacks against Iran, and emphasized continuing consultations between Tehran and Baghdad to reduce tensions and establish regional mechanisms for ensuring security.
