Iran, China, Russia, and Ukraine are the main topics of the G7 meeting
Japan’s Foreign Minister said on Sunday night at the opening of the meeting, ‘We reject any unilateral effort that seeks to change the current order through violence. This will demonstrate the G7’s firm decision to uphold the international order based on the rule of law to the world.’
The Japanese Foreign Minister emphasized that rebuilding a constructive and stable relationship with China is crucial to overcoming global challenges.
According to him, the G7 foreign ministers emphasize peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, considering it an indispensable factor for the security and prosperity of the global community. China considers Taiwan a part of its territory and has stated it will reclaim the island, even by force.
Annalena Baerbock, Germany’s Foreign Minister, in an interview with Germany’s ZDF television network, responded to the possibility of Germany supporting Taiwan in case of escalating tensions with China by saying, ‘The issue is about reducing tensions, and therefore any speculation about ‘if’ or ‘how’ is incorrect. However, we must make it clear that we will not accept a military conflict.’
