Iran Criticizes the Publication of News on US Military Equipment Deployment to the Region

Iran criticizes the news of the deployment of US military equipment to the region

Nasser Kanaani, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stated that the periodic news about the deployment of submarines, the movement of ships, or the dispatch of bombers to West Asia, at a time when new regional equations are conducive to forming a new order without the need for extra-regional military forces, is part of the US government’s effort to cover up the decline of its power in the world.

Recently, the US announced that in response to recent attacks by militias supported by the Iranian government in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Palestinian territories against US and Israeli positions, it has sent a submarine with guided missiles to the Red Sea.

The Wall Street Journal has written that submarine movements are often not made public unless the US wants to send a message by announcing these movements.

The USS Florida, which the US has sent to the region, is capable of carrying more than 150 Tomahawk cruise missiles.
