Iran’s customs reports a decrease in Iran’s imports from most trade partners.
The head of Iran’s customs has announced that the country’s import volume in the first five months of the current year from various countries has decreased between 3 to 30 percent.
Faroud Asghari told the Iranian Labor News Agency (ILNA) that imports from the UAE decreased by 135 percent in value, China by 1278 percent, Turkey by 20 percent, Germany by about 30 percent, Russia by about 10 percent, and the Netherlands by 35 percent.
According to the customs head, the only country whose imports to Iran increased in the first five months of this year compared to the same period last year was India, with a 12 percent increase.
The main imported items to Iran have been raw gold, corn for animal feed, sunflower seed oil, rice, soybean seeds, and mobile phones.
This official stated about the volume of Iran’s exports during this period that in the first five months of this year, the volume of non-oil exports was about 613 million tons, valued at 209 billion dollars, which compared to the same period last year, showed a 0.007 percent increase in weight and a 60.1 percent decrease in dollar value.
Iran’s main non-oil exports during this period were to China, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Afghanistan, and Oman.
