Iran Executes 4 People Accused of Spying for Israel

Iran executed 4 people on charges of spying for Israel

On Friday, December 29, 8th of Dey, Iran’s judiciary announced that four individuals named Vafa Hanare, Aram Omri, Rahman Parhazo, and Nasim Namazi were executed in Urmia prison on charges of ‘moharebeh’ (waging war against God) and ‘corruption on earth’ through intelligence collaboration with Israel.

The official news agency of the Islamic Republic’s judiciary, Mizan, described these individuals as members of a ten-person team who, under the guidance of Mossad officers, committed extensive actions against national security.

The charges against these individuals stated that they identified collaborators with the Islamic Republic’s security sectors and intended to extract information from them through abduction, threats, and assault.

Previously, human rights media criticized the issuance of death sentences for these individuals without following a fair judicial process.

Last night, a video was also circulated on social media showing families of these individuals gathering in front of Urmia prison to prevent their execution.
