The Iranian Football Federation will complain to FIFA
The Iranian Football Federation announced that it will file an official complaint with the International Football Federation following the restrictions imposed on the national team’s presence in the USA during the 2026 World Cup.
According to these restrictions, the Iranian national team is only allowed to enter the USA one day before the matches and must leave the country immediately after each match according to the conditions of the issued visa.
Amir Ghalenoei, the head coach of the Iranian national team, criticized these conditions after a 2-2 draw against New Zealand in Los Angeles, saying that Iran is the most oppressed team in these competitions.
The Iranian Football Federation also stated in a statement that these restrictions contradict the principle of equal conditions for all participating teams and could affect the teams’ preparation process.
The statement mentioned that the Iranian Federation has officially expressed its dissatisfaction with this decision and will submit its complaint to FIFA through legal channels.
